Statement 1
My name is Artem Berman. I am Co-Founder of several IT startups. I am currently working as CEO in one of them (StarWind, Inc. quite big international IT company). I did my Executive MBA in Edinburgh Business School on the matters of business and entrepreneurship. You can get more information about me at www.bermana.net
Statement 2
At the age of 16, I broke the neck while jumping into the river. I got fracture at the C5-6 level, and I’m dealing with a traumatic spinal cord disease since then. I am a wheelchair user.
Statement 3
I am doing my Ph.D. at University Rovira I Virgili (Tarragona, Spain). I am investigating the topic of the integration of the disabled workforce into the labor market in the context of the contemporary economy. In particular, I am exploring What are the opportunities and obstacles people with special needs are facing/dealing with?
Statement 4
This research obviously needs the participants. So I ask you to participate. If you are a disabled person, have a university degree or equivalent or another form of higher education and are interested in participating in this research, I would ask about one hour of your time to interview you. The interview can be carried face-to-face through skype or if you prefer you can respond here on this very website or by email.
Statement 5
With your written permission, I will publish your story on this website. It can be published under your name or can be anonymous. I will keep this project alive even when the research work will finish. This way your story may be the inspiration for somebody in their decision as to whether it makes sense to obtain the job, what kind of support and where they should look for. What obstacles they will face and how to overcome these.
